If the three filters are not replaced in time, the lifespan of the motorcycle will be reduced by three years!
Release date:2026-10-16 Views:3

As experienced motorcycle owners, most of them are well aware of the significant role that the "three filters" of a motorcycle play during its usage. They are similar to the masks we often wear, serving to prevent harmful substances from entering the crucial parts of the motorcycle and maintaining its cleanliness and health.

The "three filters" of a motorcycle are the air filter, gasoline filter, and oil filter. Their function is to filter any liquids and gases that enter the engine of the motorcycle, thereby providing certain protection for the engine and significantly improving its working efficiency.

1. Air Filter

Only when clean gasoline is mixed with pure air can it achieve the maximum economic performance. Generally, the replacement cycle of the air filter is 7,000 to 10,000 kilometers. If it exceeds this range, the air filter element will lose its function, causing insufficient air intake into the engine, which will cause damage to the engine's fuel consumption, internal carbon deposits, intake and exhaust valves, cylinders, etc.

2. Oil Filter

Most oil filters are of the paper filter type. They filter out oxides and some impurities produced during the engine's operation. These substances adhering to the oil will affect the quality of the oil. The oil filter can filter them out.

After the oil filter has filtered a large amount of impurities, these filtering substances will clog the filter paper. This will lead to a significant decrease in effectiveness and requires timely replacement. Otherwise, it will have an adverse effect on the engine.

Of course, when replacing the oil filter, the oil must also be replaced. Otherwise, there will be no effect. Because when the oil filter is contaminated, the oil is also contaminated. The oil will be filled with impurities, and it will be difficult for the engine to lubricate without these impurities! Some motorcycle engines do not have an oil filter, but rather an oil filter screen. This does not require replacement; instead, it needs to be cleaned regularly.

3. Gasoline Filter

The lower the wax content of the gasoline, the fewer the long carbon chain components it contains. This will make the gasoline burn more completely and less prone to carbon deposits. However, the wax content of crude oil in China is generally around 15% to 20%, and the oil quality is relatively poor. Moreover, with the current all-electric fuel injection of motorcycles, it is necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the gasoline filter.

The function of the gasoline filter is to filter impurities in the gasoline. Generally, it needs to be replaced after 30,000 kilometers of driving. If not replaced in time, it is prone to insufficient fuel supply or damage to the oil pump, as well as stalling and power loss problems.
