According to Honda Vietnam (HVN) 's just released FY2023 report (April 2022 to March 2023), the total number of motorcycles sold by the company in the Vietnamese market reached 2,335,337 units, an increase of 13.8% year on year FY2022. In March alone, Honda sold 156,404 motorcycles.


The Vietnam Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (VAMM), whose members include Honda, Piaggio, Suzuki, SYM and Yamaha, sold about 2.8 million units in 2022. As a result, the above results helped Honda capture approximately 81% of the computerized vehicle market share in VAMM, an increase of 0.3% compared to the previous fiscal year.

At home, HVN is also trying to promote exports. HVN's total vehicle exports (CBUs) reached 228,801 units in 2022 (21,199 in March 2023 alone).

Total exports reached approximately $402.2 million, including exports of finished vehicles and parts, an increase of 23.4 percent over FY2022.

Introduction of new products and technologies

Fy2023 was also an active year for HVN in the motorcycle segment, with the introduction of 21 new models and versions and a number of advanced technologies in the product line.

Notably, the Honda Air Blade 160 model was released in May 2022, marking Vietnam's first 160 cc eSP+ 4 valve engine. There is also the Honda Vario 160, which went on sale in Vietnam for the first time in December 2022.


In the larger displacement segment, HVN introduced the all-new Rebel1100 model and upgraded versions of the CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R series in the last fiscal year.

In terms of technology, all current Honda motorcycle models are equipped with steady on headlights (AHOs). Most scooter models use a new generation of smart engine eSP+ and smart locks. In particular, most high-end scooters have integrated ABS anti-lock braking systems.

There are also some technologies such as rear-wheel traction control (HSTC), the new generation of smart laser-welded frame technology eSAF, or the SH150i, SH160i and smartphone connectivity features available on smartphone models. SH350i.

Promote electrification and support communities

In the motorcycle segment, HVN has a number of initiatives to promote electrification in FY2023, such as a partnership with Vietnam Post to deliver letters for postal workers and employees, delivery men and packages of electric scooter Honda Benli e in Hanoi:.

With its domestic motorsport, HVN sponsors and organizes the Vietnamese motorcycle race - VMRC 2022, and continues to participate in prestigious international events in the region, such as the European Automobile Championship. Asia 2022 (Asian Road Racing Champions-ARRC), the Thai Talent Cup (TTC), for the first time sent representatives to compete in the Emerging Asian Talent Cup - the highest arena for Asia's young and talented racing drivers.
